If you love books and libraries, a fun project is to volunteer to come in to read to children at your local library.   Some libraries schedule several events each month, and they sometimes have openings that they'd love to fill with a guest reader!   Since I also love to sing, one of my local libraries let me read AND sing some songs for their pre-school group.
